Lasic, Lasek, No-Touch

Lasic eye surgery is especially used for the treatment of vision defects that require glasses, such as myopia, astigmatism and hypermetropia. These operations are performed with the use of new generation technology Femto Laser and Excimer laser in our center.

For general information about laser operations, you can contact 050-211-27-88.

Here are the most frequently asked questions about Lasic eye surgery:

• What is the purpose of Lasic and Lasek surgery?

During Lasic and Lasek surgery, myopia, hypermetropia and astigmatism were corrected by reshaping the front surface of the cornea by applying an excimer-laser by the ophthalmologist.

What is the difference between Lasic and Lasek no touch?

In Lasic, a thin layer is lifted with an intralase (laser without a blade) from the front surface of the cornea and an excimer laser is applied to the bottom side to shape the cornea and make a number. In Lasek, however, a thinner layer is lifted and therefore healing is slower. In No touch, a thin layer is lifted with laser. If you hesitate which operation to choose, first listen to your doctor's advice. In general, if the patient's eye map is appropriate for Lasic, Lasic is preferred. Because patients in Lasic can return to their normal lives within a few hours.

• What is no-touch?

No-touch refers to the application of PRK or Lasek surgery.

• Can Lasic be performed on both eyes simultaneously?

Yes, in almost all patients, this operation is performed on both eyes simultaneously.

• Can those who have had Lasik undergo cataract surgery in the future?

This is one of the most frequently asked questions. Lasic is a surgery performed at younger age. Cataract is seen in old age. Those who have had Lasic surgery may have cataract or other eye surgery if needed.

How to perform Lasic

After the eye examination of patients by an ophthalmologist, they are evaluated with "Pentacam, Orbscan and Allegro Topolyver-Analyzer" devices. Patients eligible for Lasic are informed about the procedure and the day of surgery is appointed. On the day of surgery, patients are re-examined and taken to the laser room. After anesthetizing the front layer of the eye with drops, a thin layer is lifted with the intralase Femto laser. During this work, there is a feeling of light pressure, but without pain. The patient is then told to look at a red light and Lasic surgery is performed. Since our device has an eye-tracker system that monitors eye movements, the patient's eye movement doesn’t affect the operation. The next day, patients can return to their normal life.

How to perform LASEK

All procedures for LASEK are the same. Only Intralase is not applied.

The recovery time is 1 week.

Who should not have Lasek?

Patients with keratoconus, thin corneas, uncontrolled glaucoma or diabetes shall not be operated on.

• I use contact lenses, what should I do?

Contact lens wearers can also undergo LASIK or LASEK surgery. If you are thinking about Lasic surgery in the future, it is recommended to stop using these lenses for a few months.

• What should I do if my eye is not suitable for Lasek?

LASIC is not recommended if the visual impairment is too severe or the cornea is too thin. In this case, Phakic IOL or Clear lens contact lenses can be applied as an alternative.

Lasik heals faster and is painless. Why should I have LASEK?

 - Our first choice is Lasic, but some patients are not suitable for Lasic due to thin cornea. Moreover, it is very difficult to understand the operation of patients with LASEK in the subsequent eye examinations. Patients who want it can choose LASEK surgery.

When will my eyesight get better after surgery?

• After Lasik, your vision starts to improve within 3-4 hours. In LASEK and no touch operation, the recovery may take 7-10 days. Complete recovery occurs within 6 months and deleted numbers do not return back.

When can I return to work after the operation?

• You can return to work the day after Lasic surgery. But if you work in very unhygienic, dusty conditions, it is recommended to take a break for a few days.
